Valerie Erwin Prevatte has been the lead attorney on over 20,000 criminal cases in Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties. As a former prosecutor at the State Attorney's Office in Pensacola, Mrs. Prevatte prosecuted a multitude of criminal cases ranging from serious felony offenses to DUIs, misdemeanors and traffic infractions.
Valerie Prevatte began her legal career as a prosecutor in the Escambia County office of the State Attorney. During her six years as a prosecutor, she prosecuted thousands of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanor DUI offenses to first degree punishable-by-life felony offenses. She left the State Attorney's Office and worked for a brief time at a local insurance defense firm. Her heart, however, was in criminal law so in 2003 she opened her own law practice. Early in her solo practice, she handled small claims disputes, family law cases, dependency cases and, of course, criminal cases. She later narrowed her practice to primarily criminal defense and domestic violence injunction cases which remain her focus today.
Valerie Prevatte has extensive trial experience with both bench trials (sometimes referred to as judge trials) and jury trials. She has been the lead attorney in over 600 trials.
